A December Reflection from McBride Construction on Trust, Tea, and the True Measure of Our Success

As the first soft snow settles on the rooftops here in Troy and across the St. Louis areas we serve, and the warm glow of holiday lights begins to appear in windows, our team at McBride Construction takes a moment to pause. The whirlwind of the year—the sawdust, the design plans, the triumphant reveals—starts to slow, and our thoughts naturally turn to the people who make our work so meaningful - and that means you.
These thoughts reflect something that happens often here at McBride Construction. We might be reviewing plans for a kitchen in O'Fallon or walking a job site in Wentzville, and one of our team will mention, “You know, the way this family talks about gathering in their new space takes me right back to the day we handed the keys over after that big kitchen renovation in Troy. You remember—the one with the amazing island.” It’s never about comparing people, but about recognizing the same hope, excitement, and desire to create a home filled with joy.
These moments happen again and again. They remind us that while the projects change, what you—our clients—truly want for your families remains beautifully consistent. It’s a feeling that speaks to the heart of what we believe.
It’s why we’ve adopted a simple but powerful mindset here:
We don’t see new clients; we see friends we just haven’t met yet.
It means that from the very first handshake, we’re not starting from zero. We’re starting from a place of trust and respect. We’re already committed to treating your Missouri home with the same care we would our own. To listening to your ideas with the same excitement and integrity we’d have for someone we’ve known for years.
Because that’s the goal, isn’t it? To not just be your contractor, but to become your craftsman and trusted advisor. The people you call not only for a bathroom remodel, but for that pesky door that won’t latch quite right years later.
This year, we’ve had the privilege of creating spaces where your families will gather for generations. We’ve installed kitchens all over St. Louis County that will see countless morning coffees and holiday feasts. We’ve crafted bathrooms that will be sanctuaries at the end of a long day. We’ve transformed basements in St. Charles County into playrooms for laughter and home theaters for cozy nights in.
But we didn’t just build rooms; we built relationships.
The true foundation of our company isn’t concrete and lumber—it’s service. Construction is our passion and skill, but service is our heart. It’s service through daily check-ins, the work itself, clean-up, and the cup of tea we’ve shared with you going over plans. It’s the commitment of service that we lead with our ears, listening to your vision until we can see it as you do.
So, as this year draws to a close, I, Tom McBride, and our entire team, want to extend our deepest gratitude.
To our current clients who trusted us with your homes and businesses this year: Thank you for inviting us into your worlds and your chaos. Whether crafting a space for your family or your customers, it’s an honor to be on this journey with you.
To the wonderful families and businesses we've had the privilege to work with over the years: Thank you. You are the foundation of our business. Your continued trust, your referrals to friends and neighbors, and the kindness you’ve shown us long after the final cleanup are what drives us forward. Seeing the life you’ve breathed into the spaces we built together remains our greatest reward.
And to our future clients across the St. Louis region, those “friends we haven’t met yet”: We are already so excited to meet you. We can’t wait to hear your stories, learn your dreams for your home or business, and earn your trust.
From our family at McBride Construction LLC to yours, we wish you a peaceful, joyful, and warm holiday season. May your homes and businesses be filled with the same love and happiness we strive to build into every project we touch.
With warmth and gratitude,
Tom McBride
